Satellite News, Moscow, September 22. Russian Chairman of the Cultural Council of the Russia-China Friendship, Peace and Development Committee Shvidkoy told the "Satellite" news agency that Russia's Central Partnership and China Film Group will sign an agreement on joint distribution of films in early October.

"I think this is a very important step because one of the main issues today is trying to get filmmakers in our two countries to start being like industries, making friends with a human face, and wanting to work together, rather than showing off the makers of their films at film festivals," he said. This is completely another kind of communication mentality."

He believes that Russia and China must develop cultural economies. It is important to make the Council's early working meeting a meeting of producers from the Russian and China film and entertainment industries.

He also pointed out that during the Cultural Council meeting, Russia and China reached consensus on a series of projects. These include exhibitions of modern artists, exchanges of young musicians, and especially focusing on the cultivation of talents.
