At the same time, the School of Digital Media of Beijing Film Academy and its teachers and students will cooperate with Jaunt China in various aspects in future research, curriculum development, project production and industry internships.
In the future, under the leadership of Professor Kevin Geiger, deputy dean of the School of Digital Media of Beijing Film Academy, the VR Film and Television Joint Laboratory will lead students to explore with leading experts in the industry, and cultivate and hone students 'ability to use VR narrative and production.
The laboratory aims to expand the boundaries of existing traditional media forms by exploring VR film and television production methodologies, and provide support for the creation of original film-level VR experiences. By mastering the full set of JauntVR's professional shooting process, students will be better able to innovate in narrative techniques, expand their real potential, and create more pioneering and experimental immersive content works.
Fang Gan, CEO of Junt China, delivered a keynote speech at the scene. In his view, the future VR is not just VR, but is bound to AR, requiring calculation of many visual backgrounds, sounds or different feelings. This is a development trend.
Fang Gan believes that VR has many similarities to movies."The first one is that you can watch movies before. You also wore glasses when you first watched movies, but this is a very big box, so from a certain perspective, VR is back to its original end. This is a movie from around 1923."
Regarding the relationship between VR equipment and VR content, Fang Gan believes that this is a chicken-and-egg problem, and there is an interactive relationship between the two. Fang Gan judged that a breakthrough in the VR market is likely to occur at the end of 2018.
