Good Media's revenue surged 8.5 times in the first half of the year and wants to create "Lu Han" and "Wu Yifan" in batches
Revenue in the first half of the year surged 8.5 times. Judging from its qualifications, Good Media, which was established four years ago, is obviously a small generation. However, after landing on the New Third Board, the surge in revenue has made this company worthy of the title of "dark horse".
Original title: The black horse of the New Third Board competes for the trillion-dollar entertainment market. Media's revenue in the first half of the year surged 8.5 times
. With the opening of the trillion-dollar entertainment industry, heroes from all walks of life in the media field are gearing up for this feast. A dark horse from the New Third Board is trying to share more shares through innovation.
On August 17, Hunan's first new third board private film and television media company, Haohao Media, announced its 2016 semi-annual report. This company, which has only been in the capital market for one year, increased its revenue by 851.12% year-on-year in the first half of this year. In the view of brokers, film and television media companies that have landed on the New Third Board will gain greater development space by entering the capital market through small, rapid and multiple financing methods. Good Media is in line with this trend.
It is worth noting that judging from the revenue composition in the first half of 2016, Haohao Media's revenue comes from many fields such as film and television works broadcasting, advertising, copyright, artist performances, sales and services of digital derivative products.
Analysts from the industry believe that as an innovative media company, in a trillion-dollar entertainment market, walking on multiple legs is obviously easier to achieve a balanced layout and improve profitability.
Revenue in the first half of the year surged 8.5 times. Judging from its qualifications, Good Media, which was established four years ago, is obviously a small generation. However, after landing on the New Third Board, the surge in revenue has made this company worthy of the title of "dark horse".
On August 17, Haohao Media announced its 2016 semi-annual financial report. In the first half of this year, the company achieved operating income of 40.0189 million yuan, compared with the performance of 4.2075 million yuan in the same period in 2015, a year-on-year increase or decrease of 851.12%. This data has also exceeded the performance for the whole of 2015. The financial report shows that Haohao Media's operating income in 2015 was 31.3113 million yuan, an increase of 187.74% over the same period of the previous year. Regarding the reasons, Haohao Media explained in its 2015 annual report: It was mainly due to the increase in TV program production and derivative income during the reporting period. Among them, TV program production and derivative income of 29.8396 million yuan was the main source of income. The TV program production and derivative income during the reporting period was mainly generated from the "Star Motion Asia" project.
In the first half of this year, Haohao Media generated a net profit of 29.9563 million yuan. The copyright transfer of the "Star Motion Asia" project also became the main source of income together with the income from peripheral products of "Football Young Player" and "The World Listen to Me" and the production fees of the Sky Music Festival.
In the eyes of industry insiders, unlike the one-way development model of most private media companies, Haohao Media is not satisfied with being just a content provider. Its exploration and layout of industrial operations may bring many inspirations to its peers.
In fact, in addition to obtaining program-related income from TV stations, Hao Hao also holds the copyright and artist resources of its own brand columns, in order to earn two rounds of income from copyright development and artist brokerage, forming a unique IP closed-loop industry chain.
IP, the abbreviation of "Intellectual Property" in English, literally translates as "Intellectual Property". The way it exists is diversified and can be transformed in different media forms such as comics, novels, movies, toys, and mobile games.
Today, Good Way Media has signed the exclusive film adaptation rights to singer Kim Min-ki's single "Talent Co., Ltd.". Following "Gardenia Blooms" and "You at the Same Table", another song IP will soon be moved to the movie screen.
A film industry insider said that compared with original scripts, IP films are inherently topicality and a large audience, which not only represents guaranteed box office revenue, but also has a twice the result with half the effort in promotion.
In the eyes of industry insiders, although the film and television media industry has the characteristics of large capital investment and long operating cycles, Good Media's move into IP films will bring sufficient capital support and lay the foundation for the healthy development of the company.
Behind the internationalization: The desire to build "Lu Han" and "Wu Yifan" in batches
was established four years ago and landed on the New Third Board a year ago. Good Media is obviously worthy of the title of dark horse. With the opening of the trillion-level entertainment market, this new army in the capital market is not satisfied with the identity of a "dark horse".
After Ali acquired a 4% stake in SM, a well-known South Korean entertainment brokerage company for 195 million yuan, Haohao Media has also taken steps towards internationalization. Relevant news shows that Haohao Media has completed the acquisition of South Korea's YLS Entertainment Co., Ltd. and changed its name to Hiyoung media group. It is committed to improving the talent mining and export training system, relying on the superior resources of both parties, cultivating high-quality artists, and creating a benign China-South Korea college economic ecosystem.
In fact, as early as 2015, Good Media successfully invested and created the first China-South Korea cross-border all-media interactive variety show "Star Motion Asia"(Season 1), becoming the first domestic TV variety show to realize reverse output of models.
It is worth noting that from Han Geng to former EXO members Lu Han and Wu Yifan, China artists have become top artists overseas through trainee channels, and then through agent packaging and selling back the domestic model, which has become a commercial phenomenon in recent years.
In this regard, industry insiders pointed out that the role played by entertainment companies in operations is crucial, which is also the business logic behind Chinese companies with capital to target overseas entertainment companies.
However, behind this logic is the development of the domestic market. As the cultural industry rises to the national strategic level, the "13th Five-Year Plan" is considered to be the "golden age" of the entertainment industry, and companies obviously want to share more. A piece of cake.
Deloitte estimated in its "Outlook for China Cultural and Entertainment Industry" report that the overall scale of the cultural and entertainment industry will reach 450 billion yuan in 2015 and is expected to reach 1 trillion yuan in 2020.
Chen Shaofeng, deputy dean of the Institute of Cultural Industry at Peking University, said that consumption potential, policy boost, rapid development of the Internet, and domestic and foreign market demand have all created a positive atmosphere for the development of my country's entertainment industry.
In the idea of Ding Yi, chairman of Good Media, this company hopes to achieve the renovation and transformation of the private media industry through practice, and with the help of capital operation, continuously extend the industrial layout and improve the industrial structure, and build a good media ecosystem.
