, the event was provided by Shenzhen Helong Cultural Development Co., Ltd.(Helong Conservatory of Music) with a special "Helong Music Talent Fund" for the Academy of Performing Arts of Wuhan Conservatory of Music. It is open to all students to select outstanding new pop music majors, new works and stage performance talents.
The Joint Vertical Scholarship
Competition completed the audition and preliminary competitions on April 20 and 27, 2018 respectively. A total of more than 300 applicants from the Academy of Performing Arts, the Department of Composition, the Department of Chinese Music, the Department of Musicology, the School of Music, the Department of Vocal Music, and the Affiliated High School were selected in competitions in the singing group and the pop music creation group. Solos, ensemble, various forms of Acapella performances, and various styles of POP, jazz, and hiphop. During the specified time, each contestant fully demonstrated his style and good singing skills. After fierce competition, 35 contestants finally stood out.
At the preliminary competition site
and during the semi-finals, five professional judges from the Academy of Performing Arts, the Department of Composition and the Department of Folk Music strictly scored the works of the contestants in the creative group, and selected a total of 5 outstanding works and 1 work that ranked first in online voting, for a total of 6 works entered the finals. Among them, Wei Xin's work from the Academy of Performing Arts ranked first in the total score of "Time" and won the "Judges Choice" award.
The
contestants from the live semi-finals singing group presented a wonderful stage performance for the semi-finals held on May 11 with their high-quality singing skills and interpretation. Finally, under the joint scoring of the expert jury and the public jury, a total of 11 finalists in the singing group and 1 popular WeChat player were selected, and a total of 12 contestants entered the finals. At the semi-finals of the singing group, 26 public review teachers and students from various departments also selected the most popular singer award-Dang Yichi.
