Li Weiling won the first place in the 2nd China-Europe International Vocal Music Competition

Recently, as an important cultural event of the Belt and Road Initiative and celebrating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the West, the 2018 China-Europe International Art Festival (Spain Station) came to a successful conclusion in Madrid, the capital of Spain. The event was strongly supported by the Spanish Embassy in China and the Embassy of China in Spain. It was organized by the Regional Government of Madrid, Spain, the Ministry of Culture and Education of the Region of Madrid, Spain, the University of Alfonso X of the Wise of Spain, and Avila Norte Lienso Art Center Co-sponsored.

The core activity of the festival-the 2nd China-Europe (Spain) International Vocal Competition was successfully held at the same time. The competition was selected at various levels in the country. Teachers, students and professional actors from well-known universities such as China Conservatory of Music, Sichuan Conservatory of Music, Central University for Nationalities, Capital Normal University, Shandong Art College, Tianjin Normal University, etc., who finally stood out, represented China players. Participated in this international vocal competition. Among them, Li Weiling, a young teacher from Xuchang College in Henan Province, won the first place in the Bel Canto teacher group.

The two Italian opera arias performed by Li Weiling in the competition were unanimously recognized by five international judges and won the first place in the Bel Canto teacher group. At the closing ceremony of the China-Europe International Arts Festival, Li Weiling represented one of the Chinese winners and performed on the same stage with the international judges. She sang the "Red Plum Praise" from the Chinese national opera "Sister Jiang" in Bel Canto, and perfectly shaped the song on the international stage. The great image of the Communists who are not afraid of sacrifice and brave and courageous for the revolution has been praised by audiences from Spain, Portugal, France and other European countries, demonstrating the phased results of China's vocal education.

Li Weiling was born in Shuiquanwang Village, Xiping County, Zhumadian, Henan Province. She studied at Henan University with university and master's degree. After graduating from college, she worked at Xuchang University. From birth, study to work, she was deeply influenced by the culture of the hinterland of China, creating her simple, kind and persistent character. The motto of Henan University, which is clear and virtuous, is regarded by Li Weiling as the motto of constant pursuit of perfect artistic realm under the seven years of earnest teaching by her mentor Professor Han Mei. After working, she devoted herself to the vocal music education career she loved with great enthusiasm. While completing teaching tasks well, she also used weekends and holidays to study at her own expense. She has been instructed by many well-known singers at home and abroad. She has used her high ideals, erudition and dedication to practice the sacred teaching and academic work and learning attitude, and has cultivated many outstanding students, and has continued to achieve good results in various professional competitions at home and abroad. From 2004 to now, Li Weiling has won two first prizes in the Henan Music Golden Bell Award sponsored by the Henan Province Department of Education and the Musicians Association, one first prize, two second prizes, two third prizes in the Henan Professional Vocal Music Competition sponsored by the Henan Province Department of Culture, one third prize in the national competition, one first prize in the Henan Division of the Maria Callas International Competition, one third prize in the Korean International Vocal Music Competition, and the Italian government, The Spanish government won two first prizes in the international vocal music competition, and won a total of 13 professional vocal music competition awards in 14 years.

As a music worker, Li Weiling thanked the new era and the "Belt and Road" initiative for the wider and wider international platforms for singing, which gave her the opportunity to go abroad and bring the national operas she has studied and sung in China for many years. It has been highly recognized by Italian singers, the birthplace of Bel Canto, and highly praised by international experts such as Britain and Spain. She also encouraged her peers and students to respond to the call of the times, go out, open their horizons, observe carefully, keep forging ahead, and demonstrate China cultural confidence. The students she trains also won second prize in international competitions. There is no end to art. How to sing national vocal music works well in an internationally accepted voice will be the direction of Li Weiling's unremitting efforts in the future.
