Deepwell Culture is such a company that wants to bring its post-production experience in the film industry to variety post-production. Founder Tian Lei started working in film editing in 2008. She believes that her entry into the variety market is a "dimensionality reduction attack." Tian Lei said that the large amount of material and short production time are a major challenge for post-production. "Our biggest enemy is time. It only took about two weeks from the end of the recording to the broadcast, and the team was working overtime after the start of the season."

"In the early stage, we may not be able to produce 100% of the expected results. This will have to be done later." Tian Lei said,"The highlights will be many and scattered. We need to highlight the most interesting parts." Tian Lei said with a smile: "Variety shows are one-time fast-moving consumer goods. This feature determines that we cannot go into every detail because there is no time. It is an entertainment and leisure product. It cannot be as thoughtful as movies. What it needs is a popular emotional logical expression."

Although it is positioned as entertainment, Tian Lei said that he must grasp the scale of entertainment: "The program can be 'added' through the later stages, but by forcing CP and forcing sensationalism, the audience can see at a glance that the audience cannot be moved without emotional investment. Tian Lei said that foreign variety shows have relatively mature production models: "The directors and directors of many foreign programs must undergo more than ten years of strict training to understand all aspects so that the creative ideas can run through. In Tian Lei's view, domestic post-production is still in its infancy. "A good later stage should be half a brain, not just a technical job. Later stages can provide suggestions for the early stages on what content can make the program better and which settings are not suitable.
