Foreign films and television dramas without a license are not allowed to be broadcast online.

According to the notice, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television will publish the information related to the proposed introduction of overseas films and television dramas that meet the requirements of the overall plan submitted by each website before February 20 of each year on the "Online Unified Registration Platform for Information on the Introduction of Overseas Films and Television Dramas". The adjusted information related to the proposed introduction of overseas films and television dramas will be released before September 30. Video websites should also be registered with the administrative department of press, publication, radio, television and television before March 31, 2015 in accordance with regulations. Starting from April 1, 2015, unregistered overseas films and television dramas will not be allowed to be broadcast online.

For overseas film and television dramas broadcast online that have been registered but have not obtained the approval of the press, publication, radio, television and television department to introduce documents, websites are not allowed to renew their copyright, and they are not allowed to continue to play the program after the copyright expires.

According to the regulations of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the content and style of overseas film and television dramas introduced by each website should be healthy and progressive and comply with the relevant requirements of the "Regulations on the Administration of the Introduction and Broadcasting of Overseas TV Programs"(State Administration of Radio, Film and Television Order No. 42). In addition, the total amount of overseas film and television dramas introduced and broadcast annually by a single website must not exceed 30% of the total amount of domestic film and television dramas purchased and broadcast in the previous year.

Currently, mainstream video websites, including Youku Tudou, Sohu Video, Tencent Video, iQiyi, LeTV, etc., have obtained licenses.
