on why an exhibition of calligraphy and painting works was held, Chen Xingjie said: Chinese culture is broad and profound, but with the passage of time and the development of the times, the quintessence of Chinese culture is gradually passing away, and it is urgent to inherit Chinese culture. "although I have lived in the United States for many years, I have always remembered that China is my root, and China's profound cultural heritage is the source of my creation. Each work contains Chinese allusions. I hope to record the excellent Chinese culture through the works, so that the broad audience can spread and inherit the Chinese culture while understanding the traditional Chinese culture. "
Chen Xingjie, a Chinese resident in the United States, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Beijing Institute of Education and studied under the famous painter Chu Daxiong. Active in Beijing painting in the early 1990s, after being affirmed and instructed by Shi Shuqing and Ren Jiyu, the artistic style of Zen ink painting was formally established. And published publications such as "falling Dragon Luohan", "Chen Xingjie's selected paintings in the United States" and "selected works of Chen Xingjie". In 1996, he went to the United States for art exchange, and then moved to the United States with outstanding talents. With the artistic dream of inheriting Chinese culture, Chen Xingjie devoted himself to the study of traditional Chinese ink painting for nearly 20 years. Finally, today, he exhibited the most traditional Chinese ink works.
Chen Xingjie is good at entering Zen with figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, and calligraphy. he is one of the representative figures in contemporary Zen painting. More than 80 traditional Chinese ink paintings and calligraphy works are on display this time. Most of Liao's works are profound, elegant and pure, giving people the feeling of Zen. At the same time, they feel the life signs of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism in his Zen paintings. Give people a sense of life, spiritual inspiration. For example, in the two works of "Zen Heart" and "Zen State", Chen Xingjie adopts a minimalist composition and a very light ink to express the Zen master's spiritual realm of being otherworldly and selfless. Standing in front of the work "thinking of Poems", we can't help but think of Liang Kai's "Li Bai reciting Poems". Although Si Shi uses splashed ink and boneless ink language, which is different from Liang Kai's simple strokes, the two works are similar in expressing the poet's temperament.
the exhibition, co-sponsored by Beijing Lao she Literature and Art Foundation and Beijing Xicheng District Federation of Literary and Art circles, and co-sponsored by the American Academy of calligraphy and painting Arts, will end on October 15, and the exhibitors will tour the country one after another.
