Bieber apologizes for racist remarks in his boyhood: he was ignorant as a child
According to foreign media reports, 25-year-old pop star Justin Bieber regrets having used racial slurs.
"This holiday season, I am determined to admit all my shortcomings and work hard to overcome them for myself and those I love!" Bieber wrote on social networking site on Tuesday, December 3.
Next, Bieber specifically pointed out his shortcomings. In an "Anti-Racism" post, he admitted racist acts committed as a boy. "When I was a child, I lacked education and was ignorant. What I said was really hurtful and I didn't know the power of my words. Racism is still a common phenomenon, and I want to use my voice to remind everyone that we are all human beings and equal before God!"
In 2014, Bieber was involved in a scandal over two videos that exposed his racist tendencies as a boy. One was when he told a racist joke and used the word "nigger" repeatedly when he was 15; the other was when he sang his hit single "One Less Lonely Girl" when he was 14, replacing the word "girl" with "nigger" in the lyrics. At the time, someone tried to blackmail Bieber with the video, and his team made it public to show that he was willing to take responsibility. Bieber, then 20, said in a statement: "As a young man, I don't understand the power of certain words and how hurtful they can be. I thought it was okay to joke about these words, but I didn't realize at the time that it wasn't funny. In fact, I still acted in the same ignorance after that."
He continued: "I value friendships with people from different cultural backgrounds very much, and I apologize for my childish and unforgivable mistake that offended or hurt anyone. I was a child at that time, and now I know my responsibility to the world and will not repeat the same mistakes."
2014 was a tough year for Bieber. He was arrested in Miami for driving under the influence and resisting arrest, faced criminal charges for throwing eggs at a neighbor's house, and was charged with assault in Toronto.
However, times have changed. After marrying Haley Baldwin, Bieber has been reflecting on his bad past, and his religious beliefs have become more and more pious, and he has become a loyal believer in the folk song religion.
"When I was 20, I made every wrong decision imaginable, going from being the most loved person in the world to being the most ridiculed, criticized and hated person in the world," Bieber said in a September post! He explained that when encountering major difficulties, he "felt like he could never turn things around" and that "it took me years to recover from these terrible decisions, repair broken relationships, and change love habits." Fortunately, I am very blessed and have many special people who love me."
"Now I am experiencing the best 'marriage' season of my life! This is a particularly crazy new responsibility. I learned patience, trust, commitment, kindness, humility, and everything it takes to be a good person. Jesus loves you... Be kind today, be brave today, and love others today, not by your standards, but by God's perfect eternal love."
