The "Notice" requires that reality TV programs should actively integrate into socialist core values, play a good value leading role, and prevent programs from being made into boring games that are divorced from reality and the masses, and cannot promote social impetuous mentality and decadence; We must take root in China's excellent traditional culture, vigorously promote innovation and excellence, get rid of the psychology of dependence on overseas program models, and resolutely correct the swarm of blind introduction;

We must adhere to the people-centered creative orientation, pay attention to ordinary people, avoid excessive starization, abandon the erroneous understanding of "relying solely on stars for viewing", correct the tendency of relying on stars, and cannot turn programs into places to compete for stars and show off wealth, or promote the unhealthy atmosphere of high pay and high costs;

We must adhere to a healthy style and taste, and reality TV programs should not become vulgar entertainment shows, and must not set up program rules and vulgar gimmicks that violate core values and public order and good customs.

A spokesperson for the State Administration of China pointed out that most current reality TV shows are correctly oriented, have healthy content, and are well received by the society; However, there are also some programs that neither climb the peak of positive energy nor touch the bottom line of negative energy. They are "interesting" but meaningless. The State Administration of China will guide and regulate them through management mechanisms such as prime-time program registration and various awards and evaluations. They will vigorously support outstanding reality TV programs, suppress reality TV programs that lack value and significance, and resolutely investigate, correct and ban reality TV programs with vulgar and harmful content.

Leng Song, secretary-general of the World Media Research Center of China Academy of Social Sciences, believes that reality TV programs are currently a type of program with high ratings and should carry more value content, such as grafting historical memories, human care, character destiny, fitness and health, common sense education, professional experience, etc., inject deeper spiritual connotation and social significance into them, and gain more lasting vitality and vitality while embodying social values.
