It is expected that nearly 100 million yuan will be allocated this year.

In the first five months of this year, the province's box office revenue exceeded 1.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 33.5%, and is expected to exceed 3 billion yuan for the whole year. According to regulations, special funds for the development of the national film industry are collected at 5% of box office revenue and paid into the central and provincial treasury respectively at a ratio of 4:6. Based on this estimate, provincial finance will allocate nearly 100 million yuan to support the development of the film industry throughout the year.

The "Measures" propose a number of support policies, including: providing a one-time subsidy of no more than 1.5 million yuan for newly built cinemas outside Chengdu City; providing a one-time subsidy of no more than 2 million yuan to key production bases approved by the provincial film administrative department after completion; Reward outstanding domestic film producers in the province that rank high in the box office, have won international and domestic awards, have made breakthroughs and innovations in production technology, or have made outstanding achievements in overseas markets; Provide funding for the training of film talents and the creation of excellent scripts.

The New Deal highlights support for film industries in poor areas and films in ethnic minority languages. The "Measures" clearly provide one-time funding to digital cinemas in the counties of 88 poverty-stricken counties in the "Four Major Districts" that have not enjoyed other subsidy policies for new cinemas, and support the upgrading and transformation of their film screening facilities and equipment, with each theater subsidizing 500,000 yuan. For films in ethnic minority languages, institutions such as translation, distribution, and screening will provide financial support, and appropriate funding will be provided to the renewal and transformation of translation equipment of relevant institutions in the province.

It is reported that last year, Sichuan's box office revenue exceeded 2.3 billion yuan, ranking sixth in the country. It has maintained an average annual growth rate of more than 35% for seven consecutive years, and has become the largest "ticket warehouse" in the central and western regions.
