Tian Jin: Achieve full coverage of digital radio and television by 2020

On November 19, Tian Jin, deputy director of the State Administration of China, attended the meeting and proposed that efforts would be made to promote the work of household radio and television coverage to ensure that by 2020, full coverage of digital radio and television will be achieved simultaneously with the comprehensive construction of a moderately prosperous society, and that access from every village to every household will be fully upgraded.

On November 19, the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture, and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television jointly held a national conference on promoting public cultural construction in poverty-stricken areas in Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia. Sun Zhijun, Vice Minister of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, Yang Zhijin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, and Tian Jin, Deputy Director of the State Administration, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Fourth, focus on improving the long-term mechanism and accelerating the establishment of a government-led and socialized development long-term mechanism for public services for press, publishing, radio, film and television.

Tian Jin emphasized that we must implement tasks well:

First, we must strengthen organizational leadership and insist on doing a good job in public services for press, publishing, radio, film and television in poverty-stricken areas as a practical classroom and important test for implementing the requirements of "three strictures and three realities" and strengthening the ideological and political construction of the cadre team.

Second, we must strengthen progress requirements, count down schedules, advance goals and tasks step by step, and ensure that all press, publishing, radio, film and television public service projects improve quality and efficiency in accordance with standards.

Third, we must strengthen overall planning, adhere to reality, adapt measures to local conditions, coordinate the relationship between national guiding standards and local implementation standards, government services and market services, meeting basic cultural needs and diversified cultural needs, and promote the healthy, rapid and sustainable development of public services in poverty-stricken areas.

Before the meeting, Tian Jin went to Kezuohou Banner, Tongliao City to conduct on-the-spot research on grassroots comprehensive cultural service centers and household radio and television services.
