Youku Tudou teamed up with FIRST Youth Film Festival to exclusively release 22 selected best films from the exhibition

The FIRST Youth Film Festival is one of the most important annual events for young filmmakers in China. As its long-standing partner, Youku Tudou has launched a total of 22 excellent films at this film festival, including award-winning and shortlisted films. Online screening for the first time, allowing the audience to see young filmmakers 'unique perspectives and thoughts on films.

The FIRST Youth Film Exhibition represents the highest level of young directors in China. Since its establishment, hundreds of young film talents such as Hao Jie, Xin Yukun, Hu Jia, Shao Pan, and Wen Muye have gained industry attention on the platform of the FIRST Youth Film Exhibition. Young director Xin Yukun's "Heart Labyrinth", which recently broke tens of millions of box office, was the winner of the best director and best feature film at the last FIRST Youth Film Festival.

At the 9th FIRST Youth Film Exhibition, which ended in Xining this summer, seven senior filmmakers, Jiang Wen, Bao Dexi, Du Yuan, Dai Jinhua, Yan Geling, Huo Tingxiao and Zhang Zhen, sat on the jury and announced 11 awards from the 67 shortlisted films. Jiang Wen, chairman of the jury, gave the young director a very high evaluation,"They are all flashing, everyone is flashing very brightly." Judge Yan Geling also said that she firmly believes that these surprising debuts of young China directors can completely compete with foreign young works, and that "China films have hope."

As the exclusive official online exhibition platform of this FIRST Film Festival, Youku Tudou selected 22 best films participating in the exhibition to launch exclusively during the period from 10.23 to 11.23, including the best short film "Seeing the Light", the best animated/experimental film "Fish" and the best drama film "Forgiveness". "Seeing the Light" tells the story of a couple with very different values and a group of greedy little people around them, each with their own wishful thinking after winning the first prize. The short film "Fish" by Zhang Lin of China Academy of Art is an abstract fable. The material texture presents the quiet beauty of black and white composition, expressing the independence and fettered relationship between the protagonist and the bird, fish, and piano. The film is considered to have reached international standards. "Forgive" tells the story of Li Zheng, a single-parent family, who dropped out of school and went to work in a car wash in order to relieve the pressure on his mother. The story of my mother being extremely angry and disappointed when she found out, but Li Zheng refused to return to school to study, and the mother-son relationship fell into a freezing point. In addition, the films nominated by the main competition "The Little Lama's Spring Festival","Mr. Rabbit","Psychological Consultation", etc. will also be exclusively screened on Youku Tudou platform.
