Compared with Zhang's "many battles", Wang Junkai's new diplomat Cheng Lang is brave and warm-blooded, but he is inexperienced. Recalling the shooting experience, Rao Xiaozhi revealed Zhang's acting secrets at the scene. In the dusty set of "Thousand miles Home," he also went back and forth between the scene and the monitor to see how he performed. When filming an explosion scene, because Cheng Lang in the film was already fainted to the ground, he was asked not to respond to the sound of gunfire, and Wang Junkai was always unconsciously shocked by the sound of the explosion at the beginning of the performance. In order not to change his face to the sound of the explosion, Wang Junkai lay in the scene, allowing himself to get used to the explosion around him until he could remain motionless.

Talking about the feeling of partnering with Wang Junkai again, Zhang said that Xiao Kai would discuss with him how to act in a play at the scene, and the two would discuss with the director together. Later, he found that Xiao Kai, like "Cheng Lang" in the movie, had been able to play his own role on the set, and sometimes he handled it very well when he was not there.

Wang Junkai said that his role as Cheng Lang in the film was "the most perfect transformation" from being protected by Zhang to being able to do something for Zhang.

It was hard to shoot "Thousand miles Home". Wang Junkai said with a smile that Cheng Lang was a "dirt-eating boy", "because the whole crew was eating dirt, and sand was equivalent to makeup hair." When it comes to shooting the explosion scene, Wang Junkai said that the bombing point was very close to him.
