GAO Yiming, born in Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province, is a Peking opera composer and educator. He is a national first-class composer. He has loved Peking Opera since childhood. At the age of seven, he studied opera with the famous old student chenxiuhua until he fell down at the age of 13, and followed Zhao Jitang (Zhao Lama) Change to Jinghu. Since the age of 17, he has performed on the stage near the corner. Li Qiuju, a famous zither player, is my teacher. He has accompanied Huang Guiqiu, Chi Shigong, Ji Yuliang, Xia Huihua and other actors. In 1957, he joined Shanghai Xinmin Peking Opera Troupe and was incorporated into Shanghai Peking Opera Theater. Since 1964, he has served as Jinghu accompaniment and vocal design. He was once the main composer of modern Beijing Opera such as "outwit Weihu mountain", "Ode to the Dragon River", "panshiwan", etc. In 1974, he was recommended by the then Ministry of culture to the composing Department of the Central Conservatory of music for further study. After graduation in 1976, he wrote music full-time, taught singing and trained large bands. He has a profound study of the aria of various genres of Beijing Opera and can demonstrate his proficiency. I have special research and experience on the rhyme, breath and pronunciation of Peking Opera. He is often employed to adapt, create and teach vocal music for major provincial and municipal troupes and colleges across the country

After his retirement, Gao Yiming was employed as the director of the drama music major of the school of drama of the Shanghai Academy of drama and a visiting professor of the Shanghai Conservatory of music. He has trained many Peking Opera players and opera composers for the cause of Beijing opera, which can be described as a peach and plum all over the world
