Recently, popcorn food brand Baobaotang announced the completion of Series B financing. The leading investor is Anci Capital. Silicon Valley Bank participated in the follow-up investment through VC+VL model, with a financing amount of tens of millions of yuan.

It is reported that this round of funds will be used for the layout of food supply platforms, theater informatization and media platforms. Lin Shuiyang, head of Baobaotang Company, revealed that at present, domestic theaters rely mostly on manual advertising sales for pre-show advertisements, and lack a complete and credible monitoring mechanism. In 2016, Baobaotang completed the acquisition of the famous domestic cinema projection management system-Pythagorean TMS, and began to enter the field of cinema intelligent informatization and pre-screening advertising Internet transformation. At present, Baobaotang TMS is provided to theaters in the form of free hardware + free software + free services, and theaters and Baobaotang share advertising revenue.

At present, Baobaotang TMS has completed the deployment and networking of information industries with more than 5000 screens in nearly a thousand theaters. Recently, Spark Media's pre-show advertising platform based on the Baobaotang TMS system was certified by SAWA Global Film Screen Advertising Alliance.

In terms of traditional popcorn business, Baobaotang currently has more than 3000 theaters in theaters, with a theater market share exceeding 60%. At the same time, Baobaotang will continue to develop its film promotion business using bulk popcorn barrels, customized popcorn, etc. as carriers. In the future, Baobaotang hopes to become a young pan-entertainment consumer media platform.

In terms of team, Baobaotang CEO Li Weiwei was once the sales director of Microsoft's China region; co-CEO Lin Shuiyang participated in the founding of Sina Weibo; and Xie Yalin, vice president of marketing, was once the senior marketing manager of Sina Weibo.
