In the movie "Litchi in Chang 'an", Li Shande's transportation of litchi from Lingnan to Chang' an is like a picture of the scenery of the Tang Dynasty that spans thousands of miles. In the newly released special edition of "Li" production, Dapeng revealed that the main creative team filmed across seven cities to show the changes in style along the way, striving to bring a true feeling to the audience. Among them, the Chang 'an scene is filled with a lot of details, from characters to props, to the shouts of street vendors, all of which strive to restore the market style of the Tang Dynasty. The scene of Lingnan Litchi Garden is set in the real lychee forest in Yangchun, Guangdong. Art director Wang Jing believes that the naturally growing moss and sea taro in the lychee forest make the whole scene more realistic and have a Lingnan atmosphere. Not only are the regional environments very different, but the dressing styles of Chang 'an and Lingnan in the movie are also completely different, thus highlighting the differences between the two places. The styling guide Li Zhou and his team did a lot of textual research work, looking for basis and inspiration from historical materials such as "New Tang Book" and "Old Tang Book", and tried their best to restore the dress style of the Tang Dynasty. In Chang 'an's scenes, the modeling team used different official dress colors to correspond to the official ranks of the characters. In the Lingnan part, the characters are full of casual freedom. In the movie, Li Shande spent 31 days from Chang 'an to Lingnan for the first time. On the way, his style gradually changed from Chang' an style to Lingnan style. The styling team designed and created 17 sets of styles for Li Shande, including more than ten sets of beards and hair of different lengths and colors, corresponding to Li Shande's state at different stages during the transfer of lychee.
On the set, Dapeng was both a director and an actor. He influenced everyone in the crew with a high-energy state every day. He also busied himself in every detail, and was ridiculed by Zhuang Dufei as a "top man." When filming major scenes such as the morning peak in Chang 'an City and the bonfire party in Litchi Garden, Dapeng also had clear requirements for the performances of the mass actors, showing his meticulous creative concept. When filming the famous scene of "riding the red dust", he chose to "use a very minimalist way to complete the painting that should have been colorful", exerting his imagination full of romantic poetry. In that scene, art director Wang Jing left all the performance space to Baima and Li Shande in the Mercedes, and photography director Wang Boxue used multi-angle shooting to highlight Li Shande's emotions. When the red kapok that Li Shande promised to bring to his wife Zheng Yuting (Yang Mi) from Lingnan fluttered in the air, it not only embodied the "red dust", but also enhanced the emotional concentration of the characters. Dapeng said: "If delivering lychees is a big thing he (Li Shande) has to do, then bringing kapok is the small thing he really wants to do, but small things are more important than big things in his mind." I believe that this famous scene with unique creative ingenuity will make every audience entering the cinema feel the dual audio-visual and emotional shock.
The "Li" version of the poster released during the same period is not only vivid and interesting, but also contains room for interpretation. In the picture with great aesthetic charm of the Tang Dynasty, everyone goes hand in hand with the "lychee". Some are competing for each other, while others are leisurely. Li Shande (Dapeng) takes the lead in moving forward, as if they are carrying out an interesting transfer of "lychee". Yang Guozhong (Andy Lau), the right-hand prime minister who is beating the drum on one side, seems to be in control of the fate of Li Shande and others, making people think more about the interests involved and the struggle between people's hearts and minds behind the transfer of lychee.
