Q: What is Wanda's next step?

Wang Jianlin: Do you think I am very successful? I feel like I'm still on the road. My position for success is to bring Wanda to the world's super enterprise, or to enter the top ten of the world's top 500 companies. This is my dream! Build Wanda into a truly internationally renowned brand.

Wanda is now a little well-known internationally, but it is not yet a real international brand. I hope that when everyone talks about Wanda, it will be like Microsoft, Apple, Walmart, etc. in the United States. As soon as it comes out, people around the world will know that it will create a top brand for China's national enterprises. This is my dream.

When can I do it? It's one point four or five years faster, and it's one point seven or eight years slower. When I reach this point, I will retire and use the more money I earn to realize my next dream. What dream? It is to make China's poverty alleviation cause more exciting.

I have already "contracted" a county in Guizhou, China, with a population of more than 100,000. I promise to double the county's per capita income in five years. To put it simply, we can just give money directly, but we need to create a new poverty alleviation model. So if Wanda becomes a truly international brand, my next dream is to do more charity.

Question: What do you want others to remember about you after retirement?

Wang Jianlin: I hope that after retirement, everyone will not hate me, instead of remembering me. In China's culture, I'm afraid it will be difficult how you want everyone to love you and remember you. China's economy is now in a stage of transformation. People are quite impetuous and want to get rich, but they also hate wealth. After retirement in the future, if you remember that I am a big philanthropist, not a big entrepreneur, and have done some good deeds, I will feel very comforted.

Question: You have been mentioning just now that our country is in the stage of economic transformation. Can you give us students who are graduating in the past few years a general suggestion on what opportunities we have during this stage of transformation, or for us, what kind of opportunity is this? We will return to China to develop when the time comes.

Wang Jianlin: The biggest opportunity for China lies in the service industry. It is not the traditional service industry, where you open a restaurant and become a tailor, but the modern service industry. Specifically, I personally think the three industries are the most promising.

The first is the entertainment industry. Currently, China's economic growth is only about 7%, but the entertainment industry has grown by more than 40% for six consecutive years. This year, the growth rate exceeds 50%. The entertainment industry must be an industry with a bright future in China.

The second is the sports industry. The sports industry has only revenue of US$200 to 300 billion in China. To achieve the current scale of the United States, there is still room for growth dozens of times. Nowadays, China people are pursuing health and longevity, and the sports industry definitely has a great future. If you can learn sports marketing, sports economics, sports media, etc., you will not have to worry about finding a job. We can't find people like this now.

The third is the tourism industry, especially the combination of online and offline tourism. It is called O2O in China. It is not a purely online company, nor is it a purely offline traditional travel agency, but an innovative tourism industry that integrates destinations, offline channels, and online.
