《金融时报》援引消息人士消息称，SoundCloud正寻求融资，同时寻求避免估值下降。虽然SoundCloud向投资者寻求注资已有一段时间，但该公司资金链近期进一步吃紧，对此，SoundCloud驳斥《金融时报》的报道，称该公司并未陷入资金不足状态，其业务与往常相比没什么变化，高管离职与筹资没有关系。
SoundCloud公司表示，其首席运营官马克·斯特利格尔（MarcStrigel）、财务主管马库斯·哈德尔（Markus Harder）已经离职，寻找新的机会。他们已经为SoundCloud效力5年，其他细节还不清楚。
SoundCloud成立于2008年，曾是欧洲最炙手可热的初创企业之一，其去年6月曾募集1亿美元，其投资者中还包括社交网络Twitter，该公司最近的估值约为7亿美元。

市场研究公司Midea Research联合创始人兼分析师马克·穆里根（Mark Mulligan）表示：“SoundCloud的转换率（从免费到付费）不可能接近Spotify的20%至25%，该公司最好的结果可能是2%至3%，但这种模式还会疏远其大部分用户。”
去年9月份，SoundCloud与Spotify就讨论过合并事宜，但这笔交易最终难产，其原因在于Spotify担心收购交易会拖累其上市进程。
SoundCloud发言人表示：“从长期发展前景来看，SoundCloud依然处于强势地位，我们对其充满信心。它继续充当着创意社区平台。”
