On the occasion of the fifth World "Comfort Women" Memorial Day,"Twenty-Two" was released nationwide as the first documentary film reflecting the living conditions of "comfort women" survivors in China. In order to allow more fans to better approach the theater to enjoy this sincere work, Wanda Films announced that it will launch a long-term screening of the film in Wanda Studios across the country, calling on people to feel the touch brought by the film's plain shots. At the same time, pay attention to the living conditions of the "comfort women" elderly group, and once again declare to the world that the China people do not forget the pain of war and resolutely remember history. In October last year, Wanda Film, as a co-sponsor, formally established the "National Art Film Screening Alliance" and invested 34 theaters to participate in the promotion and screening of domestic high-quality art films. This is also the embodiment of the Art Film Screening Alliance once again exerting its effectiveness and assuming social responsibility.

(The documentary film "22nd" will be released nationwide on August 14)

Staring affectionately at the monument engraved with permanent memory

As history gradually fades, the new generation of young people today needs to face the memory of war more seriously. Compared with the efforts of China and South Korea and other countries to build "comfort women" museums and promote "comfort women" to declare world memory heritage, some people in Japanese political circles still insist on denying or evading the crime of military sexual slavery. Facing up to the history of war requires the whole society to continue to promote it in a down-to-earth manner, whether abroad or at home.

According to data records, during the Second World War, about 400,000 Asian women were reduced to "comfort women" of the Japanese army, including more than 200,000 China women, who suffered cruel cruelty. In 2014, the number of publicly identified surviving comfort women across the country was 22. The film "Twenty-Two" tells the stories of these surviving elderly Japanese "comfort women". Select these tiny fragments from the long river of history and engrave those facts that are about to pass into permanent memories.

Since the film's subjects are all elderly people in their 90s,"Twenty-Two" can be regarded as a "race against time" film. As of the film's release day, only 8 of the 22 recorded comfort women and elderly people were alive. On the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the all-out War of Resistance, the precious video materials left by the film allow more people to understand and remember this group of suffering but optimistic and strong old people, and also let the younger generation remember this story that once happened to their compatriots. Suffering stories make you feel more about the resilience and strength of life.

Wanda Films supports the development of art films with feelings and responsibilities.

As a rare masterpiece full of emotion and connotation in recent years, the release of "22" not only provides a window for fans to touch on that sad history, but also provides a way to arouse the attention of all sectors of society. The vulnerable groups represented by the "comfort women" group have brought opportunities. Therefore, Wanda Films has launched a long-term screening of the film across the country, hoping that more fans can approach the movie theater and listen carefully to the "comfort women" in the film "22" telling them in the simplest language and stories that they have experienced after humiliation. Live calmly, remember the pain of the past, and gain a tenacious and unyielding spirit. After experiencing the baptism of pride in the rise of the motherland in "Wolf Warrior 2", we should also remember the suffering suffered by our compatriots so that the painful memories of the war will not repeat themselves.

In recent years, with the continuous improvement of the artistic level of China's film audiences, fans 'demand for high-quality art films has also continued to increase. Wanda Film, which has always adhered to the principle of "everything centered on the user's viewing experience and viewing value", has also taken the initiative to assume the important task of creating a sustainable and benign market environment for niche art films.

As early as 2015, when Jia Zhangke's "Old Man in the Mountains and Rivers" was released, Wanda Films launched the initiative of "Accompanying" Old Man in the Mountains and Rivers "for a while" based on the national studios and a tens of millions of membership system. Launch long-term screenings in all its studios; In September 2016, Wanda Films invited Jacques Behan, a world documentary master and director of the "Heaven, Earth, and Man" trilogy, to attend the Wanda Film Master Class to recommend "Four Seasons of Earth" to the audience, and arranged a long-term screening.
