From April to June 2015, various TV series production organizations across the country completed production and were approved to distribute a total of 95 domestic TV series with 3734 episodes. Different from the data for the first quarter of 2015, the number of TV dramas distributed in the second quarter of 2015 decreased by 17% year-on-year.

On the evening of August 4, the official website of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television announced the latest announcement on the distribution and licensing of domestic TV dramas nationwide in the second quarter of 2015.

are a total of 50 real-life dramas with 1920 episodes, accounting for 52.63% and 51.42% of the total proportion respectively. Among them, there are a total of 47 contemporary themes and 1808 episodes, accounting for 49.47% and 48.42% of the headquarters and episodes respectively; there are a total of 3 modern themes and 112 episodes, accounting for 3.16% and 3% of the headquarters and episodes respectively.

There are a total of 44 dramas with 1764 episodes on historical themes, accounting for 46.32% and 47.24% of the total respectively. Among them, there are a total of 34 books and 1312 episodes of modern themes, accounting for 35.79% and 35.14% of the headquarters and episodes respectively; there are a total of 10 books and 452 episodes of ancient themes, accounting for 10.53% and 12.1% of the headquarters and episodes respectively.

Different from the data for the first quarter of 2015, the number of TV dramas distributed in the second quarter of 2015 decreased by 17% year-on-year, which can be said to have dropped significantly. Comparing the year-on-year data from 2012 to 2015, it shows that the number of TV dramas distributed in even-numbered years is relatively small, and the number in odd-numbered years is relatively small. In 2015, the number was the lowest year-on-year in four years. It is not difficult to find that it has a year-on-year growth trend, and TV dramas show a trend of longer and longer (per episode).

Data analysis:

2015 is the first complete natural year after the implementation of the "one drama, two stars" policy. The entire TV drama industry is experiencing this new attempt, both in the production industry and broadcast platforms. The TV drama production industry's tentative release of more TV dramas in the first quarter of 2015 did not receive a good market response. The dominant dramas gathered towards strong platforms, and the Matthew effect intensified, making the broadcasting platform oligarchy obvious.

In the second quarter of 2015, as the three months that have just passed (April to June), China's TV drama market experienced an unprecedented low tide. The average ratings of most TV dramas were over 1%. Looking at the first half of 2015, most TV dramas with ratings that topped the TV drama ratings rankings came from January to March, while there were very few from April to June.

The ratings of TV dramas have not improved significantly since the third quarter of recent days, and most of the top spots in the evening ratings of CCTV TV dramas come from Hunan's weekly broadcasts, and during the evening prime time. This can be said to be a kind of "irony" for the current poor performance of prime time dramas.

As the summer season enters the middle and late stages of TV series, the ratings of TV dramas may increase, and the State Administration will issue another restriction on reality show variety shows, which may stimulate the TV drama market in disguise. Most of the year's major dramas such as "Legend of Miyue" and "Nirvana in Fire" will appear in half a year. For each TV broadcast platform, the results at the end of the year are related to the responsibility of "connecting the past and the next."
