Olympic champion Sun Yiwen serves as publicity Ambassador for the 28th French event

On February 29, Beijing time, the press conference of French activity month was held at the French Cultural Center in Beijing. Representatives from the embassies of Gabon, Canada, France, Guinea, Morocco, Switzerland, Tunisia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Quebec Office in Beijing and the Walloon-Brussels delegation to China attended the press conference.

Sun Yiwen, a Chinese fencer and gold medalist in the women's individual epee at the Tokyo Olympic Games, was invited to serve as the promotion ambassador for the 28th French event month. At the meeting, Mr. Pei Guoliang, Minister Counsellor of Culture, Education and Science of the French Embassy in China, personally issued a certificate of propaganda ambassador to Sun Yiwen. French is not only the official language of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, but also the referee language of fencing. Sun Yiwen's bond with French is inseparable from the sport of fencing she loves and is good at. As a professional fencer, Sun Yiwen personally mastered some French, not only to understand the referee's instructions in the competition, but also to gain a deeper understanding of the sport and feel the charm of French culture. Having repeatedly made great achievements in the international fencing arena, she won the individual gold medal in the women's sabre at the Tokyo Olympic Games, showing the strength and elegant demeanor of Chinese women to the world. At the same time, Sun Yiwen also gained a high popularity by virtue of his elegant temperament and indomitable spiritual quality.
