According to technology media Recode, less than a month before the IPO, a Snap spokesperson confirmed that Sriram Krishnan, the executive responsible for advertising technology development, officially resigned from Snap.

Krishnan moved from Facebook to Snap a year ago to help the company develop advertising technology products, including APIs (Application Programming Interfaces). This API allows marketers to purchase advertising space directly through algorithms rather than having to go through sales people. He reports directly to Imran Khan, Snap's chief strategy officer.
It is unclear what Krishnan's future plans are. Before joining Snap, he helped build Facebook's advertising network, Audience Network, which helped Facebook sell ads in apps it did not have.
This personnel change will not benefit Snap. Snap, which plans to start trading on the New York Stock Exchange on March 2, has promised investors that it can become a $1 billion company in 2017, and that automated advertising sales should be an important competitive edge.
