"Listen to China" and "sing" music to the world

Music is a language without borders. The "One Belt and One Road·Listening to China" Concert composed of symphonic works created by seven composers, Zhang Chao, Yin Tieliang, Zhang Dali, Wen Zhanli, Zhang Nan, Kang Zhuqing and Wu Jiaji, is a masterpiece that spreads Chinese millennium culture and contemporary civilization to the world in the form of music. As a 2017 annual funding project of the Beijing Culture and Art Fund, the concert was unveiled at Pinggu Theater and Miyun Grand Theater on August 15 and 17 respectively, once again winning the favor of the audience. The concert was hosted by Beijing City Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Beijing Musicians Association, China Radio Art Troupe, and created and hosted by Beijing Variety Expo Cultural Exchange Co., Ltd. It consisted of seven parts. Through the description of ancient Chinese civilization, the musical description of northern customs, southern opera culture, Silk Road scenery, ethnic minority harvest gongs and drums, grassland pastoral songs, etc., it was finally attributed to the development of the Maritime Silk Road. The opening session of the concert,"Imagination of the Chimes", expresses nostalgia, pursuit and longing. The tones of the oldest guqin and chimes, and modern composing techniques present a magnificent picture, presenting the combination of east and west, and expressing dreamy, sacred, beautiful, passionate and magnificent musical images. "Northern Bangdiao" focuses on using the necessary elements of Hebei Bangzi's singing, string and door crossing, and writes an orchestral music with the characteristics of northern opera. The music not only has lingering inner feelings, but also has the emotional expression of generous sad songs, and also has the optimism of banter humor. After listening to it, it can evoke people's memories of the fragmented folk opera music in northern my country. "Huangmei Capricorn-Theme and Variations" takes the music of Huangmei opera "Tianxian Pei" as the theme, showing a kind of femininity of Jiangnan opera. Music creation is developed based on the musical elements of Tianxian and adopts a composition technique with multiple variations of the theme. A beautiful myth and legend about heaven and earth, a pair of love gods that move the sky and earth, a familiar melody, and a beautiful picture that touches the heart. Through the music, it outlines the unswerving love power and love for truth, kindness and beauty in the world. Insatiable yearning. The work "Ancient Road and New Silk III" shows the natural scenery, local customs and customs of some areas in my country along the Silk Road; from the perspective and vision of today's people, it not only expresses a look back on the ancient road and Silk Road, but also shows the desire for sharing, peace, and development. The music of "Inspiration of Spring" comes from the Yi people in Yunnan, showing the love and admiration of the ethnic minorities for labor and life. The music of "Chao 'er" comes from Inner Mongolia. In the music, you can feel the vast grassland and those galloping horses. People are dancing happily and singing praises of the beautiful life. The musical theme of "Blue Imagination" comes from the song "I Love the Blue Ocean". The waves of the sea in the morning light, sailing fishing boats and fishing songs floating in the wind, people enjoying vacations and enjoying themselves in the same color of the sky and the sea, The merchant ship that lifts the anchor and sails, and winds and waves. Full of the confidence and kindness of today's China people, we move towards the deep blue. It expresses people's vision and yearning for the future.

From the topic selection point of view, since the "Belt and Road Initiative" was put forward, a number of large-scale music works reflecting the theme of "One Belt and One Road" have been born. Most of these works are based on historical themes, and the quantity and quality of realistic works are also increasing in an orderly manner. The seven works of "Listening to China" describe the local customs, labor life, and folk customs of various places in China in China symphonic language, allowing listeners to find the mark of their hometown in the music. While arousing the audience to look back on the beautiful memories in the long river of history and imagine today's most eye-catching grand blueprints, it also made the most pragmatic measures for the dissemination and promotion of music, history, and humanities along the "Belt and Road".

The maturity of the musical language makes "Listening to China" a work with many highlights in terms of auditory experience. Most of the seven composers have many years of creative experience in various musical environments. At the same time, the non-proposition invitation method of this proposition concert gives the creator the most relaxed creative space. Each composer selects the most familiar musical style and creates in terms of writing techniques in a way that they understand and is most loyal to the aesthetic expression of traditional music. The nationalization attempts in terms of melody composition and development, vertical and horizontal texture composition, and timbre texture composition of the seven works all reflect the creators 'thinking about the combination of Western symphony music structural forms and traditional China musical elements.
