On April 24, the Internet Copyright Industry Research Base released the "2017 China Internet Copyright Industry Development Report (Abstract Edition)" in Beijing. The report shows that in 2016, the industry scale of China's core online copyright industry exceeded 500 billion yuan, maintaining a high growth rate of 31.3% year-on-year. Its contribution to the overall economy continued to improve, driving the overall structure of the copyright industry towards networking and informatization. Transformation has played an activating and catalytic role in the development of the real economy of the copyright industry.

Note: The "Report" follows the World Intellectual Property Organization's conceptual definition of the copyright industry and divides the online copyright industry into the core network copyright industry, the interdependent online copyright industry, part of the online copyright industry, and non-exclusive support online copyright industry.

Zhang Qinkun, secretary-general of the Internet Copyright Industry Research Base, said that with the continuous enhancement of copyright protection in my country, the accelerated popularization of mobile Internet, the improvement of the financing environment, and the success of the pan-entertainment business model, in 2016, literature and video were the content The user payment model has developed rapidly, gradually beginning to change the business model of the online copyright industry relying solely on online advertising and online games to make profits.

Judging from the segmentation of the core online copyright industry, the scale of China's online game industry reached 182.74 billion yuan in 2016. Especially with the help of the popularization of mobile devices, the scale of China's online game industry surpassed that of the United States in 2013, and it has made great achievements in content going overseas, gradually beginning to seize the global market.

The scale of China's online literature industry is 10 billion yuan, and the themes have also diversified from a single type dominated by fantasy in the past. A pan-entertainment IP development model based on online literature has gradually formed.

The scale of China's online advertising industry is 280.8 billion yuan, fully enjoying the traffic dividends in the mobile era. Its growth rate is faster than that of the United States. It is expected that the scale of the online advertising industry will overtake the United States in the future.
