The 52nd Golden Horse Awards announced the shortlist today. There are a total of 427 films this year. Hou Xiaoxian's "Assassin Nie Yinnian" led the way with 11 nominations. Director Feng Xiaogang was shortlisted for the best actor with "Lao Pao 'er" this time, and Deng Chao, Dong Zijian and other actors competed for the Best Actor trophy.

The 52nd Golden Horse Awards announced the shortlist today. A total of 427 films (153 feature films, 4 animated features, 200 short films, and 70 documentaries) have registered for the competition this year, setting a new high (the number of registrations in the previous session was 364).

Hou Xiaoxian's "Assassin Nie Yinnian" led the way with 11 nominations. Hou Xiaoxian, who had previously won the Cannes Best Director Award for this film, is also the most popular winner this time. Director Feng Xiaogang was shortlisted for the best actor with "Lao Pao 'er" and competed for the Best Actor trophy with actors such as Deng Chao and Dong Zijian.

"Assassin Nie Yinnian" received 11 nominations, including Best Drama, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Photography, Best Art Design, Best Style Design, Best Action Design, Best Original Film Music, Best Editing and Best Sound Effect. Although director Hou Hsiao-hsien is a frequent visitor to the Golden Horse Awards, it is a pity that Hou Hsiao-hsien, who is already a film master, has never won the Golden Horse Award for Best Drama (i.e., Best Picture). This time,"Assassin Nie Yinnian" may fill this gap for director Hou Xiaoxian.

Other shortlisted best drama films are also coming, including "Drunken. "Life and Death" was nominated for 10, shortlisted for Best Drama, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best New Actor, Best Original Screenplay, Best Photography, Best Original Film Music, Best Editing and other awards.

"Searching for Plum Blossom" was shortlisted in nine categories, including Best Drama, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Two Best New Actors, Best Original Screenplay, Best Photography, Best Original Film Songs and other awards. This Hong Kong film, directed by Weng Ziguang and starred by Aaron Kwok, is based on a real homicide case.

Best Actor shortlisted

The shortlisted for Best Actor are: Li Hongqi's "Drunken. Life, Dream and Death ", Guo Fucheng's" Striding on Blood to Find Plum Blossom ", Feng Xiaogang's" Lao Pao 'er ", Deng Chao's" Burning Sun ", Dong Zijian's" Delan ". Among the five finalists for the best actor, Aaron Kwok is a two-time Golden Horse Award winner and previously won awards for his "Father and Son" and "Three Crossing". The remaining finalists Li Hongqi, Feng Xiaogang, Deng Chao and Dong Zijian were all nominated for Best Actor for the first time.

The shortlisted for Best Actress

are: Lin Jiaxin's "A Hundred Days Farewell", Zhang Aijia's "Gorgeous Office Worker", Song Yunhua's "My Girls", Shu Qi's "The Assassin Nie Yinnian", and Zhao Tao's "The Old Man of the Mountains and Rivers". In the competition for best actress, Zhang Aijia and Shu Qi both won the Golden Horse Award for Best Actress, and their strength is of great importance. Lin Jiaxin won the Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actress, and Zhao Tao and Song Yunhua were shortlisted for the Golden Horse Award for Best Actress for the first time.

The competition for best animated feature is not fierce but very eye-catching, because the mainland animated film "Journey to the West: The Return of the Great Sage" was shortlisted. The only competitor of the film was the Hong Kong animated film "McDull Me and My Mom". Although "Journey to the West: The Return of the Great Sage" is extremely popular in the mainland, the "McDull" series has also won the Golden Horse Award for Best Animated Feature Film twice for "McDull Story" and "McDull Pineapple Oil Prince", so this time the competition is still a bit suspenseful.

"Saving Mr. Me", which is currently being released in the mainland, has also received two nominations for Best Supporting Actor (Wang Qianyuan) and Best Editing (Ding Sheng). Wang Qianyuan has a heavy role in the film, and the outside world is generally optimistic that he will be a popular supporting actor this year.

Chen Xiangqi, the last Golden Horse Film Queen, also announced at a press conference that the winner of this year's "Taiwan Outstanding Filmmaker of the Year" was Hou Hsiao-hsien. Reason for the award: The judges unanimously believed that Hou Hsiao-hsien has been enthusiastic about film affairs for many years and is the soul of "The Assassin Nie Yinnian". His outstanding achievements and uncompromising perseverance not only brought Taiwanese films back to the international stage, but also set a benchmark for creation. This is not a icing on the cake, but a tribute to him.
