Original title: 2016 China Cultural Industry Index released in Beijing, the comprehensive index ranked first. On October 30, 2016, the Beijing Cultural Expo brand event-"Cultural China: 2016 China Cultural Industry Index Release" hosted by Renmin University of China was held at Renmin University of China. The theme of this conference is "Culture +."
At the press conference, Professor Peng Yi, Dean of the Institute of Creative Industry Technology of Renmin University of China, released the "Cultural Industry Development Index of China Provinces and Cities (2016)" and the "China Cultural Consumption Development Index (2016)."

The results of the Cultural Industry Development Index of China Provinces and Cities (2016) show that from the perspective of the comprehensive index rankings, the comprehensive index rankings of provinces and cities across the country have changed to a certain extent compared with last year. The top five provinces and cities are consistent with last year, but the ranking has changed. Beijing overtook Shanghai and ranked first again; Tianjin's scores on scientific research environment, public environment, and cultural resources have increased significantly, and it has once again entered the top ten in the country after three years; Liaoning has also entered the top ten, with Liaoning ranking first in terms of cultural resources, cultural capital, and social influence; among the top ten provinces and cities in the comprehensive index, except Sichuan and Jiangxi, all provinces and cities are located in the eastern region. In terms of numerical values, the average value of the cultural industry in provinces and cities across the country reached 73.71, a slight increase from last year's 73.65. The development trend of the cultural industry continues to rise. In terms of growth rate, the index growth rate in 2016 was basically the same as that in 2015.
The results of the three sub-indices show that the first is the productivity index. Compared with last year, the overall change in the ranking is small. Among the top ten provinces and cities, except Sichuan, Jiangxi, and Henan, all others come from the eastern region. In terms of growth rate, the score growth rates of Guangdong, Shandong, Sichuan, Zhejiang and Jiangsu rank among the top five productivity growth rates.
The second sub-index is the influence index. From the ranking point of view, there is a certain change overall compared with last year. The economic and social impact of the cultural industry in the eastern region are relatively obvious. Among the top ten provinces and cities, 7 are from developed areas along the eastern coast. In terms of growth rate, Liaoning, Guizhou, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, and Guangxi rank among the top five influence growth rates.
The third sub-index is the driving force index. First of all, looking at the rankings, compared with last year, more provinces have seen a large increase, such as Jiangsu, Chongqing, Tianjin, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, etc. In terms of growth rate, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Tianjin, Qinghai and Guangdong rank among the top five growth rates.
Professor Peng Yi also analyzed the trend of the index from 2010 to 2016. Judging from the overall situation, the average value of my country's cultural industry development index basically shows a positive growth trend, with an average annual growth rate of 1.08%. This growth rate is in line with the central government's decision to promote the development and prosperity of culture.
In terms of regional changes, in the past six years, except for Shanxi, which entered the top ten in the composite index in 2010, Hunan, which entered the top ten in 2014, Sichuan, which entered the top ten in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2016, and Jiangxi, which entered the top ten in 2014 and 2016, the other top ten are provinces on the eastern coast, which shows that the eastern region has achieved remarkable results in the development of cultural industries based on its strong economic development advantages.
Judging from the six-year growth rate, the level of cultural industry development in the western region has generally grown rapidly for six consecutive years. For example, 8 of the 10 fastest-growing provinces and cities this year are located in the central and western regions. There may be two reasons. On the one hand, the provinces and cities in the central and western regions have further increased their attention to the cultural industry. On the other hand, the economic aggregate of the eastern region is already at a relatively high level, and it is difficult to increase the growth rate significantly.
From the analysis of balance degree, the coefficient of variation showed a downward trend from 2010 to 2013, increased slightly from 2014 to 2015, and declined again from 2015 to 2016. The overall balance degree showed a fluctuating upward trend.
This year, the Ministry of Finance issued a special fund of 4.42 billion yuan for the development of the cultural industry in 2016, supporting a total of 944 projects. The number of projects increased by 11.06% compared with 2015. It has strongly supported the reform of the cultural system and the development of the cultural industry, and promoted the structural adjustment of the national cultural field. Reasonable allocation of cultural resources and optimization of the overall layout of industrial development have played an important role.

Judging from the "China Cultural Consumption Index" released this year, my country's cultural consumption composite index continues to grow, from 73.7 in 2013 to 81.5 in 2015, with an average growth rate of 3.4%. Among the first-level indicators, the cultural consumption environment, cultural consumption willingness, cultural consumption capacity index, and cultural consumption satisfaction all showed an upward trend. Among them, the cultural consumption environment index rose fastest, with an average annual growth rate of 8.8%, indicating that my country has been greatly improved in the past three years. The cultural consumption environment has been greatly improved. The variety of cultural products has been continuously enriched, the quality has gradually improved, and consumption channels have become more and more diversified and convenient, creating a good atmosphere for residents to carry out cultural consumption.
From a regional perspective, the comprehensive cultural consumption index of Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shandong has ranked among the top 10 in the country for four consecutive years, and these seven provinces and cities are all located in the eastern region. It can be seen that the overall situation of cultural consumption in the eastern region is better than that in the central and western regions. In addition, Sichuan and Inner Mongolia in the western region entered the top ten in the country for the first time. In terms of first-level indicators, among the top ten provinces in the country in terms of cultural consumption environment, willingness, ability, and level index, the eastern region accounts for more than half. Compared with the central and western regions, residents in the eastern region have relatively higher income and consumption levels, pay more attention to quality of life and spiritual enjoyment, and have greater demand for the types and quality of cultural products.
From an urban and rural perspective, compared with 2015, the overall cultural consumption of urban residents is still better than that of rural residents, and the gap has further widened compared with last year. Specific to the first-level indicators, the cultural consumption environment, willingness, ability, level, and satisfaction index of urban residents have all increased, among which the cultural consumption environment and willingness index have increased significantly; the cultural consumption environment and satisfaction of rural residents have increased significantly, and the gap between cities and towns has narrowed significantly.
From a gender perspective, men's comprehensive index of cultural consumption has increased compared with 2015, while women's comprehensive index of cultural consumption is basically the same as last year. Among them, women's comprehensive cultural consumption index and various first-level indicators are higher than men's, but the gap between the two has narrowed. Among them, women's cultural consumption level is much higher than that of men, indicating that compared with men, women have always been more keen on cultural consumption.
From the perspective of age, the comprehensive cultural consumption index of residents aged 26-40 is higher than that of other age groups, and the increase is larger than that in 2015. In terms of first-level indicators, the advantage of cultural consumption capacity for people aged 26-40 is obvious; people aged 17 and below are obviously insufficient in cultural consumption capacity, but their willingness to consume culture is stronger than that of other age groups; the cultural consumption level and satisfaction index of residents over 40 years old are rising rapidly.
From the perspective of academic qualifications, as in 2015, the differences in cultural consumption among people with different academic qualifications are relatively obvious. Among them, the comprehensive index of cultural consumption for people with bachelor degree or above is relatively high, especially the indicators of cultural consumption capacity and cultural consumption level are significantly higher than those of other academic qualifications. group.
Data shows that the consumption situation of the top ten cultural products/services in 2016 is:

In terms of consumption choices of domestic and foreign cultural products/services, domestic cultural tourism, games, and foreign movies and animations are still relatively popular among consumers. Compared with 2015, the popularity of domestic movies, anime and games has increased significantly, both by about 10%.
In the survey on the question "What are the main cultural products/services consumed by residents", it was found that movies, radio and television, online cultural activities, cultural and entertainment activities, books/newspapers/periodicals are relatively popular, especially movies and radio and television. Nearly 60% of the respondents chose these two types of cultural products. Compared with 2015, the proportion of consumers of cultural and entertainment activities, cultural tourism, and games has increased by more than 10 percentage points, a large growth rate.
In terms of consumption expenditure levels of the top ten cultural products/services, the order from high to low is: cultural tourism, cultural and entertainment activities, movies, arts and crafts and collectibles, online cultural activities, books/newspapers/periodicals, games, Cultural performances, radio and television, animation. Compared with 2015, the rankings of cultural and entertainment activities, arts and crafts and collectibles have increased to a certain extent, while books/newspapers/periodicals have declined.
Based on residents 'willingness to consume cultural products/services, combined with actual expenditures, the market growth space for cultural products/services is calculated. The ranking from high to low is arts and crafts and collectibles, cultural and entertainment activities, movies, books/Newspapers/periodicals, games, online cultural activities, cultural tourism, cultural performances, animation, radio and television. Among them, arts and crafts and collectibles, cultural and entertainment activities and games have increased significantly compared with the 2015 rankings, while radio and television rankings have dropped significantly.
Through a survey on the question "which cultural products/services they wish to spend subsidies on", it was found that most respondents chose cultural products such as movies, books/newspapers/periodicals, cultural performances, cultural tourism, and radio and television. Compared with 2015, the rankings of cultural performances and books/newspapers/periodicals have increased, and the rankings of radio and television have dropped. China Cultural Consumption Index (2015) is calculated by analyzing and calculating cultural consumption data covering 31 provinces and cities across the country, involving urban and rural areas, gender, age, education and other groups. The index results show that my country's comprehensive cultural consumption index increased from 73.7 in 2013 to 81.2 in 2015, with an average growth rate of 5%. First-level indicators such as cultural consumption environment, cultural consumption capacity, and cultural consumption level index all showed an upward trend, and the cultural consumption environment index rose fastest, with an average growth rate of 11.33%. After the increase in 2014, the cultural consumption willingness index experienced a slight decline. After a decline in 2014, the cultural consumption satisfaction index showed a significant increase.
