In this blockbuster, which cost as much as US$160 million to produce, Le Pictures 'artistic director Zhang Yimou serves as the director, and the starring lineup includes Matt. Damon, Andy Lau, Jing Tian, William Dafoe, as well as many rookie stars from China.

Le Pictures is a subsidiary of LeEco, a Beijing-based technology company. LeEco's businesses include online video services, e-commerce, smart TVs, virtual reality, smartphones, and even electric vehicles. The company's electric vehicles are called China's version of Tesla.

In November last year, LeTV Pictures CEO Zhang Zhao announced 10 English-language co-productions in Los Angeles, and these co-productions all emphasized China culture, including "The Eight Immortals Conquering the Devil","Heroes of Modern and Ancient Times vs. Aliens","Seven Stars Holy War" and "Snow Beast".

Adam Goodman has not yet announced plans for his first film series.
